Nicki Minaj partners with U.S. officials to address the UN on violence against Christians in Nigeria.
In what many fans are calling an unexpected collaboration, American rapper Nicki Minaj is set to appear alongside officials from the Trump administration at the United Nations. The planned appearance will focus on rising attacks against Christians in Nigeria.
Nicki is expected to join the U.S. Ambassador to the UN, Mike Waltz, in New York on Tuesday to deliver a joint message. Waltz had earlier praised the rapper on social media, describing her as someone who “speaks up when it matters.”
Reacting to his message, Nicki expressed gratitude, saying she didn’t take the opportunity lightly. According to her, both she and her fanbase “will never stand down in the face of injustice,” adding that their influence “must serve a higher purpose.”
Reports suggest that Nicki’s participation was arranged by Trump’s media advisor, Alex Bruesewitz, who is also scheduled to address the gathering.
This development comes shortly after the Grammy-nominated artist applauded Donald Trump for threatening military action against Nigeria over what he described as the “slaughter” of Christians.

Nicki had earlier noted on social media that no group should ever face persecution for their religious beliefs, stressing the need for mutual respect despite differences.
Meanwhile, Nigerian President Bola Tinubu, in a statement quoted by BBC News, emphasized that violence in the country has affected people across different religions and regions, noting Nigeria’s near-even split between Christians and Muslims.
