FIFA Best 2025 XI — PSG players celebrate after Champions League win

FIFA has named its 2025 Best XI, with Paris Saint-Germain's European champions flooding the men's team and Spanish internationals leading the women's selection.

FIFA has named its men’s and women’s The Best XI for 2025, a selection that highlights both established superstars and runaway breakout talents.

Paris Saint-Germain dominate the conversation after a landmark season. The club’s players supply half a dozen names to the men’s XI a testament to PSG’s influence during a campaign that culminated in European glory. Their defensive and attacking talent shaped the voters’ thinking.

In goal sits Gianluigi Donnarumma, chosen for a series of decisive displays across continental competition and at the Club World Cup. The backline pairs experience with pace: Achraf Hakimi and Nuno Mendes flank Virgil van Dijk and Willian Pacho, giving the XI both bite and balance.

The midfield blends creativity and control. Cole Palmer honoured as Club World Cup best player joins Vitinha, Pedri and Jude Bellingham to supply attacking spark and tempo.

Up front, Ousmane Dembélé and teenage sensation Lamine Yamal round out an attack that mixes craft with raw, youthful threat.

The women’s XI tells a different but equally sharp story: Spain and England dominate the selection, reflecting a season in which both nations repeatedly met at the highest level. Their rivalry played out on club and international stages, and the pick mirrors that intensity.

Goalkeeper Hannah Hampton anchors a defence featuring Lucy Bronze, Leah Williamson, Irene Paredes and Ona Batlle.

The midfield trio of Aitana Bonmatí, Patricia Guijarro and Claudia Pina supplies technical quality and control, while the forward line  Alexia Putellas, Alessia Russo and Mariona Caldentey offers guile and goals.

FIFA confirmed the selection covers performances from August 2024 to August 2025. Final choices were reached through an equal-weight voting process that combined expert panel verdicts with fans’ worldwide votes, measuring impact for both club and country.

This year’s lists are a clear snapshot of football’s balance: club success lifting players into the global spotlight, and a new generation led by teenagers and breakout stars staking its claim among the sport’s elite.
