Artificial intelligence firm Anthropic has unveiled a new experimental product called Claude Design. This tool is designed to help professionals create visuals without needing a background in design. It targets founders and product managers who need to share ideas quickly.

Users simply describe what they want, and the AI creates an initial version. For instance, you can ask for a prototype of a meditation app with specific colours and layouts. The tool allows for immediate edits and refinements.

There were speculations that this new tool might rival Canva. However, Anthropic has clarified that it aims to complement the popular design platform. The goal is to help people move from a rough idea to a visual concept fast.

Once a design is ready, users can export it as PDFs or PowerPoint files. They can also send the work directly to Canva for further collaboration. This flexibility makes it easier for teams to adopt the new tool.

A standout feature is its ability to apply a company’s specific design system. Claude Design can read a firm’s codebase to ensure consistency. This ensures that every project matches the company's established visual style.

The product is powered by the robust Claude Opus 4.7 model. It is currently available in research preview for Pro, Team, and Enterprise subscribers. This launch shows Anthropic’s push into the enterprise market.

It comes amid reports that investors are offering the company a valuation of $800 billion. Despite these massive offers, Anthropic is reportedly not interested in new funding right now. The focus remains on product development.
