The Federal Government has moved the entire process of academic certificate evaluation and authentication online.
With this new change, applicants will no longer need to visit the Federal Ministry of Education in Abuja physically.
The Ministry announced the development in an official statement released on Tuesday, September 8, 2026.
The statement was signed by Boriowo Folasade, the Director of Press and Public Relations of the Ministry.
According to the statement, the Minister of Education, Dr. Maruf Tunji Alausa, said the new system is now live on a dedicated online platform.
He said applicants can now complete their certificate evaluation and authentication from anywhere without coming to the Ministry.
Dr. Alausa described the initiative as a major step forward in the government's digital transformation drive. He noted that it aligns with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's Renewed Hope Agenda.
The Ministry explained that the online system was introduced to address long delays in processing applications.
It is also designed to make the service more accessible for Nigerians within the country and those living abroad.
Beyond applicants, the platform will help institutions, employers, and other relevant bodies. They will now be able to verify academic qualifications through a more structured and transparent process.
The Ministry said the digital shift will improve efficiency, reduce stress, and build more trust in certificate verification nationwide.
