Commercial motorcycle riders in Nsukka, Enugu State, have staged a protest over an alleged N400 daily e-ticket levy.
The riders, popularly known as okada riders, took to the streets to express displeasure over the charge, which they described as an additional burden on their daily income.
One of the protesters questioned the rationale for the payment, saying, "This extortion is too much. Which one is e-ticket of N400 daily?"
The protesters said the N400 daily payment further reduces their already lean earnings.
They described the levy as unfair and called public attention to what they consider extortionate charges imposed on their operations in Nsukka.
The demonstration centred on the e-ticket levy, which the riders insist is unsustainable for those who depend on daily takings to survive.
