David Luiz Denies Threat Allegations against miss Cavalcante

Former Chelsea star David Luiz is facing fresh controversy in Brazil after a court issued a restraining order against him over alleged threats to a social worker.

According to reports, the 38-year-old defender allegedly sent intimidating messages to 26-year-old Francisca Karollainy Barbosa Cavalcante after she rejected his request for a threesome.

Cavalcante told police the threats began shortly after her alleged affair with Luiz ended. She claimed he warned her about his “money and power” and even suggested that her son could “pay the consequences.” One of the alleged messages reportedly read: “I can simply make you disappear.”

The social worker also alleged Luiz offered her £14,000 to walk away and keep silent, but she refused the money. She later shared screenshots of the alleged threats with authorities, saying both her life and her son’s were in danger.

Her lawyer, Fabiano Tavora, stated that Luiz had covered her hotel bills—sometimes up to £140 per night—when they met in Fortaleza, Ceara State. She added that after filing her complaint, she felt constantly watched and had to switch hotels several times.

Less than a day after her report, Brazilian police secured a restraining order in her favour.

Luiz, however, strongly denies the claims. He admitted to chatting with Cavalcante on Instagram but insists he never met her in person or issued any threats. In a statement, he said:

“I never threatened anyone. I was never with this person physically, and I was never at the hotel they claim.”

His communications team also confirmed that legal action is being pursued.

David Luiz, now playing for Cypriot club Pafos, is remembered for his time at Chelsea and Arsenal, winning the Champions League, Europa League, and FA Cup during his spells in England.
