A deadly Borno attack has reportedly claimed the lives of six soldiers and four CJTF members in Biu Local Government.
Reports have emerged of a tragic encounter in Borno State, where suspected ISWAP fighters reportedly killed six Nigerian Army soldiers and four members of the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF).
The incident took place in the Mandara community, located within the Biu Local Government Area.
According to details shared by activist Somto Okonkwo on Monday, the insurgents struck between midnight and 1:00 AM on Sunday, February 15, 2026.
Among the fallen soldiers were a Commanding Officer (CO) and an Adjutant. The attack represents a significant blow to the local security architecture, as both the military and local volunteers were caught in the late-night assault.
While the news has gained traction on social media, the Nigerian Army is yet to release an official statement. However, the source insists the details are factual, urging the public to verify the claims despite the current silence from official channels.
In a related development, security concerns have also shifted toward Kwara State. Reports indicate that the Share community in Ifelodun Local Government Area came under a separate attack.
Residents and observers have called on security agencies to intervene quickly in Kwara to prevent further loss of life.
As of now, police and military authorities in the state have not confirmed the scale of the incident in Ifelodun.
These twin reports of insecurity highlight the ongoing challenges faced by both the North-East and North-Central regions, leaving many calling for increased transparency from the nation’s security chiefs.
